At-Home Luxury: 5 Rituals to Revitalize Your Skin This Season
A Sanctuary
of One’s Own
Five rituals from the Paris atelier — chosen by mood, by season, by the particular ache of a given week.
The protocol begins the moment you decide to be unreachable.
Twenty years ago, in a treatment room on the rue de Grenelle, a sequence of steps was written down: warm, exfoliate, oil, seal. It became the backbone of every La Sultane de Saba spa protocol — the one performed in our Paris atelier, and in the hammams and sanctuaries that followed in Marrakech, Bali, Udaipur.
The products on your shelf are not standalone objects. They were formulated to be used in sequence. What follows are five of those sequences, rewritten for a bathroom instead of a spa room. The order matters more than the brand of the towel.
Choose by mood. Choose by season. Choose by the particular skin you are in this week.
Amber, Vanilla
& Patchouli
Ayurvedic — relaxation & deep nourishment
Ayurveda is not a product category. It is a theory of the body as a system in balance — and a vocabulary of touch and scent to restore it when the balance tips. This ritual leans heavy and resinous: amber for warmth, vanilla for the sweet calm that signals bedtime, patchouli for the earth note that keeps it from floating away.
Reach for it when the days have gone short and the skin has gone tight. It will not hurry you.
“Between medicine and science, Ayurveda is above all an art of living — a philosophy of body and spirit in balance.”
From the slow warmth of the spice route, we move toward water. Toward flowers that bloom overnight and the first light on a terrace in Ubud.

Bali — detox & glow
In Bali, the lulur — a bridal body scrub traditionally performed in the weeks before a wedding — is the ritual our Bali collection pays its respects to. Lighter in weight than the Ayurvedic ritual, more aqueous, built around flowers that open and close with the day.
This is the ritual to perform in the morning, in a bathroom with the window open.
“In Bali, they say the flowers have power over the soul — their magic relaxes the mind and the body.”
Westward now — to a palace built for a love that could not be let go. The scents turn to rose, musk, incense held in marble.
✦✦✦Musk, Incense
& Rose
Taj Palace — firming & hydrating
Our Taj Palace collection is the most dressed of the five — the one for occasions, firming routines, and evenings where you want the scent to linger past midnight. Rose carries the top of the composition; musk and incense pull it down into something slower and more serious.
Perform this one when you want to feel marble underfoot.
“Born for love, the Taj Palace symbolises the force of absolute love — a message of serenity and wellbeing.”
Then the scents turn salt and green. A ritual for warm weather, for skin that has met the sun.
✦✦✦Tiaré Flower
& Aloe Vera
The Islands — deep nourishment & repair
Of the five, this is the ritual with the most restraint. The oils are lighter. The scrub is salt rather than sugar — more mineral, more sea. Aloe runs through the whole collection: cooling, soothing, repairing skin that has given something up to the weather.
Reach for it in July. Reach for it in February when the holiday felt like a dream.
“A delicious interlude of wellbeing — a call to escape, to the open waters of Polynesia and its fabulous landscapes.”
Finally — the deepest, the most lingering, the ritual that closes the day. North to Udaipur, to a marble palace built on a lake.
✦✦✦Musk, Incense
& Vanilla
Udaipur — softening & sensual
The softest of the five. Sugar instead of salt, the gentlest exfoliation we make. The scent is a quiet one — vanilla sitting low, musk sitting lower, incense threaded through both. This is the ritual for the end of the day, performed slowly, performed by candlelight if you can.
Nothing announces itself. Everything lasts until morning.
“Inspired by Jagat Singh — who built a marble palace on the shores of Lake Pichola in honour of his favourites.”
